Martín Beauchamp is an experienced site reliability engineer (SRE), network engineer, project manager and team leader with 20 years of experience in a diverse array of industries including retail, 3D printing and Bitcoin mining. Pior to joining Iterative he was an SRE at Shapeways, a 3D printing service bureau where he redesigned the data center network availability. He automated data center operations with a combination of Puppet, Bash and Terraform for integration between the physical data centers and the AWS infrastructure used for 3D rendering.
His Bitcoin mining experience took place in late 2013 - 2014 as the sole propiertor of Consecution B LLC. He recognized the advent of ASICs as an opportunity to enter mining with an order of magnitude advantage over the GPU miners that dominated the space. With his engineering background steering him away from the many projects with poor chances of delivery he vetted and procured the first Butterfly Labs, KNC Miner and Cointerra units shipped to the USA. He designed and implemented cost-concious mining and mining pool infrastructure as part of the effort to minimize overhead while maximizing reliability. As an eager collaborator and Bitcoin enthusiast the experience formed long lasting relationships with some of the innovators and researchers in the mining industry.
